KWTX is reporting that a woman was killed trying to cross I-14/Hwy 190 in Killeen.

The woman was trying to cross Thursday evening just after 7:30 p.m. on the eastbound lanes.

She was identified ast Sherrika Abrams, 38. She was taken to Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights after she was found in the road. She later died at the hospital just before 8:30 p.m.

An autopsy was ordered.

Investigators determined that Abrams walked into the path of a 2016 Toyota Tacoma.

According to Killeen police, the driver of the Tacoma stopped “to provide proper information and assistance."

The driver wasn’t injured, and no charges are going to be filed.

We can only hope that this was a tragic accident, but with this being Christmas, people do have a tendency, it seems, to act strangely if things are not going their way. Either way, the season will be ruined for quite a few years, if not forever, for some because of this.

This brings to light that you should never take your time with loved ones for granted, because you never know when it could end.

Please have a safe, blessed, holiday.
