WFAA Reporter Dale Hansen Defends Gay Football Player Michael Sam

Michael Sam is Gay.  When I heard that, my response was “Who’s Michael Sam and who cares if he’s gay?” 

Well apparently it’s a big deal because Michael Sam  is a football player, a really good one who is expected to be drafted by the NFL in April.  If he is drafted he will be the first openly Gay NFL player in history. Naturally folks have a lot to say about that.  Some folks are pretty upset.  Not Dale Hansen reporter for WFAA in Dallas, he tells everybody to chill out.

The All-American defensive end came out to his University of Missouri teammates at the start of the season, and they still voted him the team’s most valuable player.

It remains to be seen what the NFL will do.  As for Michael Sam, he told ESPN, “I’m not afraid to tell the world who I am.  I’m Michael Sam. I’m a college graduate. I’m African American, and I’m gay. I’m comfortable in my skin”.
