New Braunfels
This has been voted the best in the world multiple times, so I'm sure it's good enough for Texas. It's got 3 miles of lazy, calm, and rapid rivers. 17 speed slides, and enough pools and beaches to make the entire family happy.
- Schlitterbahn
Galveston Island Waterpark
Some of the fastest water slides in the state, including the Screaming Serpents. Bonus, no sharks.
- Hawaiian Falls
Waco
There are multiple locations around Texas, so just go to Waco.
- Hurricane Harbor
Six Flags
If you want to combine roller coasters with water slides, then this is your best bet.
- Summer Fun

So if you don't want to spend a lot of time in the car, then simply head to Belton and Summer Fun water park. Get your water on, and be close to home.
