U2 have made a habit of bringing a fan onstage at each stop on their current tour to play along to a U2 classic.  A 13-year-old U2 fan got his 15-minutes of fame at a recent Boston show.  The smile on his face says just about everything you need to know about the power of music.  And the power of Bono.  Sorry, The Bono.

According to the Boston Globe, the 13-year-old from nearby Easton was sitting with his family, which included his U2 superfan of a dad.  The boy, Brian, and his dad even rehearsed a couple U2 songs knowing the band's habit of bringing people onstage for a song.  They rehearsed two songs, one of which just happened to be the song he did onstage with the band.

Brian's dad, mom and brother were all at the show.  A sign that simply read, "I Play Guitar" was all it took to grab Bono's attention.  From there it was all business, and the kid nailed it.

Who out there hasn't had the daydream of being called up on stage to play with our favorite band?  I've had the dream, and I can't play a single note of a single song on a single instrument.  It's ugly.  That's not the case for this kid.  While he has the biggest smile you'll ever see on him again, he doesn't have the wide eyes of someone terrified at the current situation.  Cool as the other side of the pillow.

A couple notes for this young man from the Boston-area.  First of all, this will be the coolest thing you ever do.  The chance to ever outdo this moment can be filed in the "slim-to-none" category.  Second, you can never be a punk-teenager to your parents (especially your dad) again.  Lastly, if there's ever again a chance to shine in the spotlight like this, ditch the cargo shorts.
