We seen stage adaptations of everything on TV from The Brady Bunch to The Jeffersons to even What's My Line? if you can believe that.  Now, word it has come down but one of the most popular sitcoms of all time from the 1960's is being revived live on stage in the great state of Texas.

For those who are too young to remember or those who have lived so long as to forget, the popularity of the Beverly Hillbillies was a feat we probably will not see again ever in television.  It's one of the highest rated series of all time, up there with Super Bowls and royal weddings.  To this day,  The episode known as "The Giant Jackrabbit" from January 1964 remains the highest rated half-hour program in television history.  Yes, that the show where an scrawny elderly lady boxes with a full-sized kangaroo is the high watermark for attracting viewers.  It boggles the mind.

Now, a playwright and a community theater have teamed up to bring the Clampetts to the stage.  The local newspaper had a write up.

Tarnation!
