I don't believe in that crap saying "case of the Mondays".  It's just another day of the week people.  That being said, my Monday was tossed into the food grinder first thing this morning.  One of my all time favorite movies broke inside the VCR.

Now I realize that some of you are already laughing at the fact that I, not only have a working VCR, but have an inventory of VCR tapes.  This is one of those movies that a lot of people have never heard of, and is kind of hard to find.

It's called the "The Jigsaw Man".  It came out in 1984.  I loved Cold War movies growing up.  Which of course is natural, since I grew up in the Cold War.  This movie has a more British core to it.  Michael Cain starts the movie in Russia as a old hero of the Soviet Union.  He was a sleeper agent who defected from England to Russia with a bunch of secrets.  He makes a fool of himself and is about to be killed off, when his Russian handlers come up with a plan to send him back to England to get his secret stash of micro film (google it) that has even more secrets, that he was saving as an insurance policy.  They give him plastic surgery to make him look 20 years younger and send him back to England.  He escapes and it's up to his old friend Laurence Olivier to catch him.  Lots of plot twisst and excitement.

I had planned to ride my exercise bike and watch it again this morning when the machine kicked it back out of the slot.  Turns out the tape broke.  It felt like someone kicked me.  I mean, how sad of a day is it when technology, 20 years out of date, lets you down?

If you ever get a chance to see it, you should.  It's a fun movie.
