A Texas ranch notable for its use in both Lonesome Dove and The Sons of Katie Elder could be yours if you happen to have a cool $15 million dollars to spare.

It's called the Wildcatter Ranch and Resort, and it's in northern Hill Country in Graham, Texas right on the Brazos River. As a matter of fact, it was the property of the founder of the town. Now it's making a lot of coin as a corporate retreat.

"Wildcatter Ranch is a fully operational 1,484-acre ranch and resort," according to Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty who is listing the property. "With 16 cabin suites, a 16-room hotel, a 15,436 square-foot main house, two two-bedroom homes, two horse barns, a 25,000 square foot restaurant, an enclosed pavilion, three small buildings, a maintenance building and water house with pumps, the ranch is well-equipped for extraordinary entertaining and recreation and is turnkey ready for convenient and seamless transfer of ownership."

In other words, this is at the Shady Rest on Petticoat Junction, and if you want to run this resort successfully and not into the ground, you can't be moving as slow as Uncle Joe.

The realtor goes on to add in a release, "Resort amenities include horseback riding, an archery range, a sporting clay shooting range, world-class fishing, a pool, a hot tub, a therapeutic spa and 25 miles of hiking and riding trails. Possum Kingdom Lake, one of the finest recreational lakes in Texas, is minutes away."

Which reminds me of that song by the toadies from the 90s;

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a Blu-ray disc of The Sons of Katie Elder I've been itching to watch.
