Texans Like the North Dakota Ice Cream Buffet

The folks at work really like the Ice Cream Buffet idea that my relatives showed on Facebook.

This time of year, it's always fun to be inundated with pictures of family reunions/vacations.

Well, last week my Aunt Barb and her clan wrapped up a week at a lake in Minnesota, as they do every year about this time.

I went once way back when. I got sunburned and bit by a spider just south and east of one of the testies. OOH, so much fun.

Well, now it seems they have come up with an idea of how to serve "end of vacation" ice cream.

All you need is a few picnic tables lined up side by side, a lot of tinfoil, and all the ice cream. Just lay the foil, then scoop out the ice cream and ring the bell. The young, and young at heart, belly up to the table, grab a bowl of their chosen treats to smother a scoop or two, then go to town.

Now people at work are teasing me with, "You don't have to be from the South to be a redneck." But hey, they all think it's a great idea. It is if you don't want to take any ice cream home with you. Just scoop out the whole gallon and whatever doesn't get licked (phrasing) gets tossed with a somewhat easy cleanup.

I loved "Slap Shot" as much as the next guy, but this is a whole new way of "putting on the foil".
