Temple Woman Wins Nurse of the Year Award

Congratulations to Temple's Kemberli Gordy!

Texas Health Care Association has named Kemberli it's 2016 Nurse of the Year for Central Texas.

Kemberli was one of ten nursed honored in Texas. She's the assistant director of nursing at Temple's William R. Courney Texas State Veterans Home. She was nominated by Shannon Sondegeroth, administrator at the State Veterans Home, with recommendations from nursing facility residents, family member, peers, and supervisors.

Kemberli is known as an excellent teacher. Because of her great skills and teaching ability the state veterans home was able to start doing in-house IV therapy, wound vacs and other procedures. The state veterans home has also become a teaching facility for CNAs, medication aides and nurses.
