A September 11th Memorial Service will take place Tuesday Morning at Temple's Central Fire Station.

The station is located at 210 North 3rd Street in Temple. The service will begin at 8:55 am with opening remarks by Fire Cheif Mitchell Randles and City Manager Brynn Myers. At 8:59 am, the ringing of the bell will mark the collapse of the World Trade Center South Tower, followed by a moment of silence.

Growing up the son of a firefighter, the ringing of the bells is a known custom to commemorate a death in the line of duty. It's something that always gets to me when the 9-1-1 Anniversary comes around.

The service remembers those who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and Shanksville, PA. If you are unable to attend, Temple Fire asks Texans to observe a moment of silence from 8:59 to 9:00 am on Tuesday morning.
