Temple Firefighters spent the holiday day wishing a Merry Christmas to families at McLane Children's Hospital.

With the engines running with lights and sirens at full blaze, Temple firefighters continued their holiday tradition by arriving at McLane Children's Hospital to deliver toys to families on Christmas Day.

Temple's firefighters brought toys for 35 children alongside Santa himself on what was a day off for many of them. Thomas Pechal told KWTX that "In the fire service, we respond to calls for people in trouble. That carries over to off-duty activities".

The toys were purchased by the Temple Profesional Firefighters Association Local 846.
