It's fun to see a talented artist find their footing and graduate from the persona they came with, in this case the loud mouth large lady who falls down a lot, into something deeper and more grounded. Also there's the year's best tossing your cookies joke. All in the new movie, "Spy." And we're chatting about it.

The best movies this year, Kingsman, Mad Max, Ex Macina, are taking established tropes and genres and flipping them around. Such is the gift that is Spy. It hits all the familiar beat of a Bond film, right down to the lush score and country hopping, yet somehow undermines all of it with a barrage of sharp jokes and great performances from the cast. In addition to Melissa McCarthy somehow shedding her previous fatty fall down roles, Jason Statham is a particular revelation as ego-driven blowhard super spy f-up, Rick Ford. Also, this gives Fifty cent his best role ever. Check out our review below. And we'll see you in the back row.

We'll be the dudes on either side of the ficus.
