Days of SAMCRO are done, and Mayans M.C. have begun. The FX spinoff from Kurt Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy has officially hit the road for a fall 2018 premiere, as a first teaser colorfully re-imagines “Paint It Black” with all the revving engines we’d been missing.

Even as the network has yet to declare an official premiere date beyond the fall, the Mayans M.C. spinoff’s first official promo takes us right back into that California motorcycle world with a Spanish-language cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black.” And while the teaser doesn’t drop any actual footage, you can still check out some early looks at the reshot pilot from FX’s prior 2018 trailer (around 1:14):

The new ten-episode series stars Edward James Olmos, JD Pardo, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta. Noberto Barba directed the pilot and will serve as executive producer alongside Sutter and Elgin James. The series’ status was previously in question after FX cooled on Sutter and James’ first attempt at a pilot order, and subsequently recast multiple roles for reshoots. So reads the Mayans MC synopsis:

Mayans MC is set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, fresh out of prison, is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy who had the American Dream within his grasp.

It’s possible surviving Sons of Anarchy characters might put in an appearance, so stay tuned for more on Mayans M.C. as it arrives.

According FX, the ten-episode series will officially premiere on an as-yet-undetermined date later this year. The series’ status was previously in question after FX cooled on Sutter and James’ first attempt at a pilot order, and subsequently recast multiple roles for re-shoots. That said, the original Sons of Anarchy underwent some initial retooling, including Ron Perlman’s replacement of Scott Glenn as Clay. So reads the Mayans MC synopsis:
