Some people might not have seen this coming, but Terri Gibbs had a good song back in 1981.

Back in 1981 I had given up thinking I could learn an instrument. I had already tried trumpet, French horn, drums, guitar, and harmonica. Kind of tough to learn something when you can tell when the notes go up or down.

Then I heard this great song by Terri Gibbs. She’s blind and can play instruments. I was half blind and couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Still liked the song though.

“Somebody’s Knockin”. It was crossover hit. Went to number 8 on the country charts, while it peaked at 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s been said that when songs start to cross over to other charts that we are at a weak point in music. Also when T.V. stars start making music. All this did happen in 1981, but Terri Gibbs still made the cassette.
