KWTX is reporting the death of a member of the Indiana National Guard Saturday at Fort Hood.

Members of the Indiana National Guard arrived at Fort Hood about a week ago for training. Indiana guard officials say that Sgt. 1st Class Mark Boner of Fort Wayne passed away over the weekend at the age of 43. No details about the circumstances have been released, as the soldier's death is still under investigation.

The National Guard troops are part of the Kokomo-based 38th Sustainment Brigade who came to Fort Hood for training before leaving for Kuwait.

According to the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, Boner was a logistical specialist who joined the Army after graduating from high school in 1993, and later joined the National Guard's 38th Sustainment Brigade. Boner served tours in Iraq and Kuwait in 2005, returned to Iraq in 2009, and served again in Kuwait in 2013. He was a recipient of a Combat Action Badge, Iraq Campaign Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and two Army Commendation Medals.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and fellow soldiers.
