Randy VanWarmer – Just When I Needed You Most

In case you missed it on the morning show, James Harrison featured a one hit wonder from Randy VanWarmer.  It's "Just When I Needed You Most".  It hit number one in 1979. One thing you might not have known, it was a B-side.  His record company released the song "Gotta Get Outta Here" and "Just When I Needed You Most" was on the B-side.  Back in the day DJ's would get bored and occasionally flip the record over and play the B-side, and sure enough, the song took off to the top of the chart.  He never recorded a big hit again, but that doesn't mean he didn't write any.  A few Randy VanWarmer hits you might have heard before include the Oak Ridge Boys - "It Never Hurts to Hurt Sometimes", and a little number one hit from Alabama..."I'm In a Hurry".  His big hit has been covered by a few people as well.  See which version you like the best.
