Cristelita Fuertes’ first-graders took second place in the Texas Association of School Boards contest that promotes public schools.

Meadows Elementary is on Fort Hood so naturally the kids made a military tradition part of their video.  Listen for the cadence which comes in around the :49 mark.

Sooo Cute!

Amazing that first graders could remember their lines and deliver them with conviction.   The kids talked about the value of free education and they emphasized that school is about learning and FUN!

And of course getting  a good education leads to getting a good job, hence all the different career outfits.

The video also showed soldiers who help out at Meadows as part of KISD's  Adopt a School Program. It also includes many of the support people who help the teachers out every day.

The movie was uploaded to the TASB website, where viewers voted.

Meadows won second place and $2,500 for the school.

Congratulations to Cristelita Fuertes’ first-graders at Meadows Elementary School!
