Two people were reportedly attacked and robbed at Lions Club Park Monday evening.

In a statement issued Wednesday, Commander Erich Morsbach said officers were dispatched to MetroPlex Hospital in reference to an assault that reportedly occurred around 8:20 PM at the park.

Two victims said they were headed to their vehicle when they were approached by a group of 3 or 4 men. The men followed them to the car, attacked them as they tried to get in, then stole a backpack and fled.

The assailants were described as African-American men wearing sweatshirts, hoodies, and basketball shorts.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the crime, the suspects, or the stolen materials to contact Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477 or online at bellcountycrimestoppers.com. Information can also be submitted via the P3tips app.

Information submitted to Crime Stoppers is anonymous and confidential, and could net a cash reward of up to $1,000 if it leads to an arrest.
