K1017 Artist – The Kinks

The Kinks were part of the original British Invasion.  They formed in 1963 with the brothers Davies, Ray and Dave, along with Mick Avory on drums, and Pete Quaife on bass.  Their early hits, “You Really Got Me”, and All Day And All of the Night”, set an early standard for the “Power Chord”.

Other bands, years later, would take those power chord songs to a even louder and harder level (ie Van Halen’s remake of “You Really Got Me”)
