So after setting up housesitters Moose and Rocco, my security system (try to guess which one is the dog) I set out for my folks' place. I noted after the 19-degree temps earlier in the week we seem to be headed for the 70s in Central Texas.

Where I'm headed, conditions are quite similar.

So it's not exactly Bing Crosby weather. So what: it isn't about that.

The liner notes of my favorite Christmas album, Seasons Greetings from Perry Como (no fooling, I freaking love this man's voice) say it best:

"At no other time of the year, it seems, do genuine warmth and affection seem so natural. Friends are remembered, family ties are bound more tightly, and the whole world is a brighter, cleaner place.

Christmas feels good.

Whether the day breaks cold and tingling or warm and sultry, there's that unmistakable something in the air everywhere that says CHRISTMAS! And in tinsel-hung capital letters."

I have no idea who wrote those liner notes, but after I read them every year as I have since I was in single digits, quickly I feel the spirit of the season in my heart and mind.  The temperature outside has no effect.

No matter what it feels like outside, I hope it's warm as can be in your heart.
