I grew up in a Pizza joint. It was called Village Inn Pizza. You can still find a few around the country. For me, it's a must stop. They had the best pizza ever. My Dad thinks it was the celery that they put in the sauce that gave it the extra zip in taste. He could be right.

This a picture of a pie from Village Inn. They did a poor job of pushing down the crust so it got a little dark, but the combo of thin crust, sausage & cheese, is simply the best.

We had a machine that rolled out the dough for us. I know there's a truck load of people saying that you have to work it by hand. I've done both, and the hand rolling is too inconsistent. The machine rolls it out perfectly, and all you have to do is fit it into the pan and smoosh down the crust. Melt in your mouth.

No matter how you like your pie, today you need to through some sausage on it as it's National Sausage Pizza Day.
