I35 traffic from north of Temple to Midway Drive continued to move at a snail's pace Tuesday afternoon as crews worked to clear debris from the area near Pendleton Road.

Both lanes of I35 had been closed due to flooding in the area. When the waters cleared, mud and other debris needed to be cleared. As of 2:43 PM, Jodi Wheatley with TxDot was advising drivers that northbound lanes were clear and traffic was no longer being diverted to the service road, but it would take time for traffic backed up from north of Temple to Midway drive to begin flowing at a normal pace.

Southbound lanes were still closed between the northern part of Troy and FM 1237 at the time of this update's publication.
