Sarasota, Florida has put pianos out on sidewalks around the city, so those with hidden talents can show off their skills. That idea is giving a homeless man a second chance.

UPDATE: Donald Gould, has landed a paying gig at a restaurant, and, last week, he saw his son for the first time in 15 years, talking with him on FaceTime. Gould is supposed to enter rehab this week.

PREVIOUS STORY:

His name is ”Donald “Boone” Gould, he sat down to play for a few tips.  Donald didn't know Aroar Natasha would walk by, record him and put it on her Facebook page.  Soon people all over the world knew about the homeless man who could play.  The video now has 8.4 million views on YouTube.

And of course the media picked up on it. The video has led to an audition for a job at a piano bar, and a Go Fund Me account set up by Jacqueline Bevan. The fundraising page has already collected over $37,000. Jacqueline also arranged a makeover for Donald and his best friend Paul. They are both musicians.

On the Go Fund Me page, Jacqueline writes, “All funds will go to Donald (Boone) Gould to secure a home, a car and to possibly return to school for his last 3 classes for his music theory degree.”

Some background on Donald is also included. We learn he played clarinet as a U.S. Marine and wanted to be a music teacher, but after his wife died, he began a downward spiral, losing custody of his 3 year old son. He wound up on the street in 1998. Donald hopes to find his now 18 year old son and get his life back on track. He only lacks three credits for his music degree.

Let's hope the next story about Donald ends with  "Happily Ever After"
