UPDATE: Authorities have identified the deceased driver as 25-year-old Natalie Hiebert of Clifton.

Clifton was pronounced dead on the scene after the driver's side of her Toyota minivan was struck by an SUV as Clifton tried to turn onto Highway 36 around 7:30 AM Monday.

The driver of the SUV, 46-year-old Jennifer Turner of Gatesville, was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Two girls riding with Turner, ages 17 and 15, were taken to the Coryell Memorial Health Center. Their names were not released


 

 

One person was killed and at least one other injured after two cars collided on State Highway 36 Monday morning.

KWTX reports that the crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 36 and Farm-to-Market 182 a few mile northwest of Gatesville.

Department of Public Safety troopers were dispatched the scene shortly after 7:30 AM. They told KWTX that a Toyota minivan trying to turn onto the highway when it was struck on the driver's side by an SUV.

The driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene. The number of people in the SUV, their injuries, and the extent of those injuries (if any) were not disclosed.
