Hey Gang,

Movies and Music were a powerful combo on this day in history.  Two movies made their debut on this day.  Each were unique for different reasons.

In 1966 the movie "Georgy Girl" came out.  It starred Lynn Redgrave and James Mason.  It was also the first U.S. movie to earn a "Mature Audience Only" rating.  The movie has James Mason's character, who's her parents boss, and has watched her grow up,  offer her a contract to become his mistress for the "luxury's of life". (Sick)

The movies theme song was a huge hit for the Australian group The Seekers

On this day in 1976 the pop classic "Car Wash" made it's debut.  It showed a day in the life of those who worked at a California carwash.  It had many great cameo appearances, including Richard Pryor as a money hungry evangelist.  The Pointer Sisters played his female "posse".

The movie also produced a theme song that was the hottest sound in town, the coldest sound around.
