KWTX is giving out some special recognition to a Fort Hood Soldier who got caught paying his respects during a heavy spring rain as a veteran's funeral procession passed him near by.

Kenneth Varnes noticed a funeral procession coming down the road so he pulled over to let them pass. When he noticed it was a veteran's funeral, he got out of his car to stand and salute as the cars drove passed. One individual caught Varnes standing at attention in the rain in the photo above.

Varnes said he stood at attention to try and offer the mourning family passing by some comfort. Varnes told KWTX "This is probably going to make someone's day, seeing me stand here, and I know how it is to go through a tough time like that, and I really just did it just to make someone's day, that was it."
