Celebrate Christmas with Merry Market Days and the Killeen Christmas Parade

Killeen’s  Merry Market Day is happening  Saturday Dec 14, 2 p.m. at Green Avenue Farmers Market, 717 N. 2nd Street. It’s free and open to everyone. Merry Market Day will feature a free synthetic ice skating rink, live music, a chili cook off, and food and craft vendors.   Later that afternoon, the 51st annual Killeen Christmas Parade begins at 4:30 p.m.  You can watch the parade from the Merry Market.

The route has changed this year due to downtown road construction. A map of the new route is available on the city’s website, www.killeentexas.gov. 

Also remember Dec 14 is the last day to vote  in the annual Celebrate Killeen Outdoor Decorating Contest. Vote at www.killeentexas.gov.

Each year, homes across Killeen are decorated with incredible light displays. Five homes have entered to win, and now the public will select the favorites. Trophies will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners.
