The National Weather Service issued an early morning Tornado Warning for southwestern Coryell and southeastern Lampasas Counties until 6:15 AM.

At 5:44 AM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 5 miles northwest of Copperas Cove, moving north at 25mph. Radar has indicated rotation.

This tornadic storm is likely to remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Coryell and southeastern Lampasas Counties. Flying debris will be dangerous to anyone without shelter. Tree damage is likely.

Take cover if you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or a vehicle head for the nearest shelter. Get to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows.
