A shooting in Killeen left a 19 year old victim hospitalized Wednesday morning.

Our news partner, KWTX, reports that police responded to a report of gunfire at a duplex in the 2800 Block of Leroy Circle around 12:45 AM.

The victim was discovered at the scene and transported to Scott & White Hospital in Temple in stable condition.

In a statement, Killeen Police Spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said witnesses told police the victim and another man were involved in a verbal altercation, during which the suspect opened fire. Miramontez said the suspect fled north.
