Temple Fire & Rescue got to work early this morning after reports of a house fire at 209 South 20th Street.

Firefighters responded to a call that came in just after 2 am.The family who lived there got everyone out safely, but firefighters arrived to see flames coming from the front porch.

Thomas Pechal with Temple Fire and Rescue said the home received fire damage to the porch, attic, and an interior room in the home. Damage from heat and smoke were found throughout the interior of the home.

The American Red Cross is helping the 2 adults and three children who lived there. The fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes after the call came in.
