Don’t Fall Asleep in a Whataburger Drive-thru

Drunk, Tired, and Hungry is no way to go through life, son.

OK, let's get this straight. 4AM in a Whataburger drive-thru. Line has stopped moving because someone is asleep at the wheel. Yeah, I guess you can think the person is drunk. But honestly, at a certain age, you have to think he's just sleepy.

Turns out, not just sleepy. According to KWTX, Robert Lee Mahoney was found asleep in a College Station Whataburger - first by employees, then by the police.

It seems that Mr. Mahoney drank 3 beers before getting behind the wheel. The officer performed a standardized field sobriety test, which did not go well.

Mahoney was arrested for driving while intoxicated.  He was being held on $3,000 bond, but online jail records indicate he was released some time before mid-day Tuesday.
If he was just able to stay awake long enough to get his food, that big bun would've soaked up a good chunk of the beer. Allegedly. (I'm obviously being facetious. Please don't drink and drive, folks. Seriously. It's dumb and could end in tragedy.)

Hey, at least he wasn't on a United Airlines Flight. Silver lining.
