They topped the charts when other 80's bands were back working at whatever passes in England for Stuckley's. Sure drugs and near death almost destroyed the band. But in 1989, this was their commercial peak. The album Violator bestrode the underground and mainstream music charts like a pale, leather jacket wearing colossus.
