When the Cure released Greatest Hits in 2001, they included a bonus CD comprised of new acoustic performances of the same 18 songs. Now, there are reports that the band are preparing to release both records on vinyl picture discs for Record Store Day on April 22.

The news comes via the Cure fan site Chain of Flowers, who found since-removed listings for them on the Italian site for their label, Universal. However, there has been no official word from either the band or Record Store Day as to whether or not either album will be for sale.

We can add Acoustic Hits and Greatest Hits to the list of rumored Record Store Day releases, which includes limited-edition exclusive records by the Dave Matthews Band, Ben Folds, Iron and Wine, Spoon and Animal Collective. And, as the official ambassador of Record Store Day, it's expected that there will be something special from St. Vincent. You can get more details here.

Still, not too many titles have been confirmed with nearly six weeks to go, but we do know that there will be a covers EP from Jason Isbell and a 7" single from Filthy Friends, a new supergroup containing Peter Buck of R.E.M. and Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney.
