A 16-year-old Copperas Cove girl who battled bone cancer for over a year passed away Tuesday evening.

KWTX reports that Savannah Lewis passed shortly before 6 PM. Lewis was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in summer of 2016. In November of 2017, doctors said she may not make it to Christmas. Savannah was determined to spend Christmas with her family, and managed to do just that.

Back in November, Central Texans got together to decorate Savannah's room for Christmas, and on December 3, fellow Jeep fans from across the nation gathered in Copperas Cove and Alaska as a tribute to Savannah, who shared a love of Jeeps with her father.

We would like to express our deepest condolences to Savannah's family and friends and the entire Copperas Cove community.
