It's late, I'm dead tired and I've just spent fifteen minutes trying to find my kid some underwear because 1) nobody around here knows how to fold clothes and B) apparently the boy only has ONE pair of existing underwear. So I've slapped him into sport shorts and GOOD LORD IS IT NINE O'CLOCK ALREADY...

I didn't know what your song of the day would be. Sometimes it takes ten minutes or more of staring intently at Dave's Wall Of Music to figure it out. Date of release, pep quotient, chart position, appeal to the ladies index, it comes in to play. Still, this boy was stumped. Then it happened.

Sometimes the Pop Gods smile down on an unknown band, a huge hit hits the charts from out of nowhere and a star, briefly, crosses the radio into legend. Then...well, that's pretty much it.

This my father-in-law's favorite artist. Seriously. In his musical pantheon of attractive singers, this lady is the tops. It's Belinda Carlisle. *Applause*

One of the all time great eighties tunes, and thirty five years (!) later, I still don't know what the heck it's about. Fun to dance yourself around the room too, though.

Live songs don't get much better than this, folks. The crowd's way into it. The band's on fire and the tune is smoking from note one. And no, it's not Frampton or Cheap Trick and a bunch of screaming Japanese teenagers. It's Pat Travers!
