Okay, in 1984, thirty years prior was 1954. A vast difference in time, seemingly, full of wars and massive societal upheaval. Thirty years forward from 1984 is...now. And that bends my brain noodle man. I may be in denial here. Back then, I was a junior in high school, Reagan was napping in the White House and this was the newly minted number one song in the country...
I guess you could say, musically, I was a child of the eighties, particularly what came to be called "Synth Pop." And this is where that started.
If I ever thought about the Ukulele at all, it was probably in that episode of the Brady Bunch where Mike Brady tossed on a straw boater and a crazed out raccoon coat and played 1920's Joe College.
