Temple HS on Lockdown, One Person Shot

UPDATE 10:35 A.M. According to the Temple Independent School District's website, the soft lockdown at Temple High School has been lifted. Regular school hours will continue to be held.

UPDATE 9:31 A.M. According to the Temple Independent School District's website, the student suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No further information on the student's condition is available. The school is still on lockdown.

BREAKING NEWS: Temple PD has confirmed that one person has been shot at Temple High School. The school  is currently on lockdown.

A male student suffered a gunshot wound and was taken by ambulance to Scott & White Hospital, according to a police spokesperson. The spokesperson declined to say if the gunshot was self-inflicted or if the student was shot by another person.

No further details on the condition of the victim is available at this time.

Parents are being notified of the shooting. No one is allowed to enter or leave the school.
