Hey Gang,

I was informed recently that I should stop cutting my own hair.  I said I have a haircut policy.  They said, "What? Cut it badly so people feel sorry for you?"  No Mom.

My haircut policy was developed over many years of going to a barber.  When I started making enough coin, and coin is the proper word, I'd pay 10 bucks for a haircut.  If you charged 3 dollars, then you got a 7 dollar tip.  Well through the years, barbers, like everyone else, raised their prices.  One day I went to my barber and he charged me 12 dollars.  I said since when?, and he said "since the first of the year."

One thing you should know about my barber at the time, he only had one good eye, so his depth perception was a little wanting.  I would walk out of there on more than one occasion with scabby ears.  His landlord jacked up his rent so his haircut price went from 6 to 12 dollars.  I was upset, but I payed him his 12 bucks, no tip, and I never went back again.  Soon all the barber shops were charging over 10  bucks so I simply paid 20 bucks for  clippers and after 2 haircuts, it paid for itself.  After cutting my own hair for 15 years I'd like to say that I've gotten pretty good at it, but, to be truthful, I've just got used to the laughter.  But hey, I get what I pay for. And at least I've got something to cut.
