A 29-year-old Temple man was booked into the Bell County Jail Friday in connection to a shooting at Belton's Harris Community Center back in August.

Jail records indicate Eric Lee Anzaldua was booked at 1:32 AM and charged with deadly conduct. He remained in the jail Friday afternoon in lieu of $50,000 bond.

The shooting occurred in front of the community center, 401 North Alexander, at approximately 7:05 PM on Wednesday, August 8. Witnesses said the victim entered the building to ask for help, then abruptly left.

Police arrived at the scene with minutes of the shooting, but could not find the victim or a suspect. They searched the area and eventually found the victim around the corner from the community center. He was alert and responsive, but refused to cooperate with police. Authorities have not released details about the victim or his condition.

City of Belton Spokesperson Paul Romer said Friday that Anzaldua was arrested overnight by a Bell County Constable.
