Bell County Sheriff's Deputy Adam Davis has died as a result of injuries sustained during a crash on Dec. 1.

Bell County Sheriff Eddy Lange made the announcement on Wednesday morning. “Rest assured,” Lange said, “there is one more angel out there watching your back," to fellow first responders listening via two-way radio.

The crash occurred on Dec. 1 when Adams, 36, was responding to reports of a man with a gun. Adams lost control of his patrol car around 9:15 p.m., rolling the vehicle several times on Farm-to-Market- Road 1237.

The call turned out to be "unfounded."

Adams was taken to Scott & White, where he was on life support until he passed early Wednesday morning.
