Austin Tops the Chart for the Most Fun Texas City
The funnest city in Texas really shouldn't be a surprise.
WalletHub.com ranked the top 182 cities in America and the funnest turns out to be Las Vegas. Stop the presses! You're kidding? What are the odds that the mecca of sin and debauchery was rated the most "fun" city?
Number two was Orando. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! A city that has Disney World, entertainment crack for kids, was ranked that high? Wow. Amazing!
O.K. this list is one of those stupid things that people do to justify their outrageous salary for playing ping-pong and pinball all day. They start with a random fact, which in this case was..."Americans spend nearly $3,000 on entertainment per year." From there you rate metrics, this report did 65. They included a range from fitness centers per capita to average open hours of breweries. Yadda Yadda.
In Texas the winner was Austin, which came in at #14 nationally. Houston came in second at #18, followed by Dallas, Fort Worth, El Paso, Arlington, Corpus Christi, Plano, Amarillo, Lubbock, Irving, Grand Prairie, Garland, Laredo, and Brownsville bringing up the rear at #170.
Interesting sidebar. The list also looked at Festivals per Capita. Texas ruled the list for the Fewest Festival per Capita. Amarillo, Garland, Laredo, and Corpus all made the top 5.
The only city in Texas that showed up on the good list was Corpus Christi which made the top 5 for Lowest Movie Costs.
