Hey Gang,

It was on this day in 1980 that the best funeral song ever was certified Gold.

Today is the day that "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen went Gold.  The soft spoken bassist, with a funny voice, and a huge talent for writing hit songs, John Deacon, was responsible.  Fitting since it's one of the most famous bass lines in music history, and he's a bassist.

Turns out that John hung out with the band Chic for awhile.  He was inspired by their song "Good Times".  With out that track we would not have gotten this classic.

One fun fact.  In the U.K. "Another One Bites The Dust" was used to help train people in giving CPR.  The song comes close to 110 beats per minute.  The British Heart Foundation recommends 100 - 120 chest compression's per minute.  As a bonus, if you lose the patient you can say "Another one bit the dust".
