Hey Gang,

When Videos first started being a major influence on music there was a band from England that made you "'Tempted" to pour some "Black Coffee in Bed".

The group was Squeeze.  They were considered "New Wave" and first made a splash in the 70s, had big hits in the 80s. then broke up on this day in 1982.  I'm just guessing here, but must spent all their money, then reformed again in 1985 before disbanding in 1999.

They're hits include  "Cool for Cats", "Up the Junction", "Labelled With Love",  "Another Nail in My Heart", and "Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)".  My favorites, which I still have on some compilation CDs, are "Tempted" with Paul Carrack on lead, and "Black Coffee in Bed".  The backing vocals for this track were sung by Paul Young and Elvis Costello.
