I know I am asking for trouble when I suggest we leave the often times warm winter weather of Texas and make a trek up to Wisconsin. It will be worth it,  I promise.

Have ya’ll heard about the Ice Caves across Lake Superior?  They are in a place called Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. You can only hike over to see them when the lake is frozen.  That hasn’t happened since 2009.  But, thanks to the Polar Vortex you can walk in and see the Ice Caves today.

You have to drive up, park and then hike across the lake for about 1 to 2 miles depending on where you park.  And mind you that is across ice, in freezing cold weather, sometimes with a wind chill. Tens of thousands have hiked in to see the Caves.

Once you get there it is worth it, as you can see from these spectacular pictures.

So what do you say guys should we pack up and go?   Maybe we can get the Boss to organize one of those team building field trips.    I am not one who enjoys the cold weather but to see those Ice Caves,  I will slap on some layers and take the hike.
