Things went from bad to worse for a Copperas Cove woman who was pulled over by police for driving without her headlights on last Saturday.

The Killeen Daily Herald reports that Amber Newton was pulled over for driving without headlights which led to police discovering two types controlled substances in her vehicle. After making plans to arrest her on the drug-related charges, police then found out she had left her 3-year-old daughter home alone while she went out.

So now Amber is dealing with 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance, and now a charge of abandonment of a child with intent to return, and even an organized retail theft charge.

She'll have some time to think it all over inside the Coryell County Jail.
